The child mortality rate has dropped significantly since 1990, from 26.9 per one thousand newborns. Nevertheless, Romania is among the European countries that have a high child mortality rate, namely 9.4per one thousand newborns.

Romanian Marathoner runs more than 200km in 24 hours to support the EVERY ONE campaign in Romania 6 Jun 2012

Gabriel Solomon, a Romanian marathoner, ran  213.75km in 24 hours in the biggest shopping mall in Bucharest to raise awareness and funds for the EVERY ONE campaign in Romania. Over 30,000 people attended the event where they learnt more about the campaign and Save the Children’s programmes to reduce mortality rates of children under the age of five.
