Tajikistan

In Tajikistan child rights, health and education are inextricably linked to birth registration. Without a birth certificate children are often unable to claim their rights as outlined in both the Tajik constitution and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Unregistered children might be unable to claim their rights to life saving health services such as vaccinations and may be unable to enter school. A recent Save the Children International survey found that 30% of children in surveyed districts of Tajikistan did not have a birth certificate.
